POLIN – Bonds Gallery

Warsaw, Poland completed 2025

Suspended from the ceiling of the Bonds Gallery, this poetic light installation reflects the luminous rhythm of cities after dark. Inspired by the way lights flicker on and off in urban homes, the dynamic animation responds to imagined human presence and activity.

As the sequence unfolds, the space transitions from a few glowing “houses” to a city-like panorama of light, then dims gradually into night — only to restart with each new cycle. Another layer of the animation mirrors the color temperature of natural sunlight, shifting from warm sunrise tones through neutral daylight to the soft glow of sunset.

Shaped like archetypal houses with polycarbonate shades, each element is equipped with tunable white light. The installation not only enhances the atmosphere of the gallery but also supports practical functions — from exhibitions and events to cleaning and conservation.
